Research Experience
School for Environment and Sustainability, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI)
Sharing Communities in Southeastern Michigan: Co-led an interdisciplinary research study (N=276) on resource sharing in Southeastern Michigan. Conduct a mixed-methods survey on the motivations for sharing and the impacts on consumption and waste in communities.
Fostering Place-Based Resource Sharing: Co-led a qualitative study focusing on the motivations for sharing resources, time, and skills in communities. Supervised undergraduate students through the university’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program.
Columbia University Medical Center (New York, NY)
Stress and Justice Studies: Coordinated activities for 50 staff and interns on two longitudinal studies focusing on the impact of maternal and paternal involvement with the criminal justice system on children’s mental health. Managed the collection of biological samples.
Violence and Mental Health - Children of First Responders & The Impact of 9/11 on Youth: Interviewed hundreds of families and managed data analysis for two longitudinal studies assessing the effect of the World Trade Center attack on parents and their children.
Adolescent and Family Decision-Making in Time of Disaster: Co-developed quantitative and qualitative instruments for a study funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to understand risk assessment and decision-making in times of emergency.
